MeckPAC announces leadership transition as New Year brings 20th anniversary

With a new year comes new transitions here at MeckPAC. We’re looking forward to this year’s 20th anniversary celebration of all our important work together over the past two decades.

As we move into 2018, we want to thank departing chair Jamie Hildreth for his work with MeckPAC and wish him the best of luck on his future endeavors.

Jamie, who has served as chair for the past two years, began working with MeckPAC four-and-a-half years ago. He began first as a volunteer, then a board member and, finally, as vice chair and chair.

During Jamie’s tenure as chair, MeckPAC has made intentional moves to diversify its leadership and volunteers, increase voter outreach, expand into important intersectional issues, such as our recent efforts to advocate better PrEP access and HIV/AIDS prevention support, and more.

The board thanks Jamie, who resigned on Jan. 2, 2018, for his dedication to the organization and larger community.

Vice Chair Emily Plauché will step into the chair role and fulfill the position’s term until February, when the board will elect new board officers. Over the next several weeks, the board will plan a board retreat and put into place several strategic goals and plans to see MeckPAC through this year and beyond, including this year’s state legislative, county commission and other races, as well as the organization’s 20th anniversary celebration.

MeckPAC looks forward to a productive and fulfilling 2018 together with the always-generous and continued support of our community, donors and friends! Thank you, and Happy New Year!
